Wisconsin Restaurant Association Endorsement

I am honored that endorsements keep coming in for my candidacy to be your Representative for District 29! I believe the WI Restaurant Association believes in me due to my experiences as an owner of a food and salad dressing manufacturer a few years ago, along with my other small business background, and my goal of working for economic growth right here in the 29th District.

Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation Backs Stafsholt

Earlier today, Rob Stafsholt, Republican candidate for the 29th Assembly District, was formally endorsed by the Volunteers for Agriculture-PAC, the political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.

Agriculture in Wisconsin is an $88.3 billion industry annually. It contributes 354,000 jobs to Wisconsin’s economy – that equals 10% of Wisconsin’s total employment. According to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s website, there are more than 77,000 farms in Wisconsin.

Rob operates one of those farms. He is a fourth-generation farmer who is proud to continue the agricultural legacy of western Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s endorsement is yet another reason why Rob is the correct choice for the 29th Assembly District this November.

Tavern League of Wisconsin Endorses Rob Stafsholt

I was endorsed today by the Tavern League of Wisconsin!

The Tavern League of Wisconsin services over 5,000 members and is an integral part of Wisconsin’s economy. They also play an important role locally. Many Tavern League members are leaders within the community and their endorsement means a great deal to me.

I will continue to work hard on the campaign trail to merit the support that has been given to me. Thank you to all TLW members with whom I have met in the 29th Assembly District. I look forward to being a responsible, common-sense voice for you in Madison.

Retiring Representative John Murtha Endorses Rob Stafsholt for State Assembly

Rep. John Murtha (left) endorses Rob Stafsholt to succeed him in Madison.

Baldwin – Rob Stafsholt, candidate for the 29th Assembly District, was endorsed today by Representative John Murtha (R-Baldwin).  Murtha, who is not seeking re-election this fall, has spent a decade representing the people of the 29th District in Madison.  Murtha cited Stafsholt’s business experience and common-sense leadership as fitting qualities for a State Representative. He also praised Stafsholt’s tough stance on taxes, his dedication to educational excellence, his support of Second Amendment rights, and his ability to work with everyone to get the job done.

“As a successful small businessman, Rob Stafsholt knows first-hand how to balance a checkbook and create economic opportunities for our area. And as a family man, Rob is committed to doing the right thing for the educational needs of our future generations,” Murtha stated.  “I feel confident that Rob will be a strong voice for western Wisconsin and will stand up for our area against the Madison special interests.”

Rob Stafsholt is a small businessman and fourth generation farmer. He is raising his daughter just outside of New Richmond, the area where he grew up and has spent his entire life. His campaign highlights plans to reduce crime and to expand economic development opportunities for western Wisconsin.

Rep. Murtha, who will retire in January 2017, is currently one of the longest serving members of the Assembly Majority and was elected by his colleagues as Majority Caucus Chair.

The News is In

Primary VictoryI would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends for supporting me through the last several months of campaigning, and all of my volunteers for their tremendous efforts to help make this primary victory possible.

Thank you to all of you for the support and trust you have placed in me.

I’m also deeply grateful for the confidence the voters have placed in me with their votes today. I am looking forward to a spirited general election campaign and I will continue to run a positive campaign based on issues.

I also want to thank Vince Trudell and his family for stepping forward to run in our district. I am very happy I had the opportunity to get to know Vince and respect his genuine concern for this district’s issues, his devotion to all of our families, and our communities. Thank you Vince.

As I look forward I am excited to talk about the issues that are important to our area. I would like to use my experience as a small businessman and a farmer to grow our local economy so that we have more good paying jobs for our families, expand economic growth, reduce government over-regulation, provide the best educational opportunities for our children and grandchildren, and reduce taxes.

Meeting at UW-Stout in Menomonie with Chancellor Bob Meyer

I had the opportunity to meet with Bob Meyer in his office today. Bob is the Chancellor at UW-Stout in Menomonie. uw1

It was a great discussion about what a chancellor and a UW campus wants from their Representatives in WI and I look forward to working closely with Chancellor Meyer moving forward if I get elected. Bob has a total of almost 30 years of his life at UW-Stout along with some time working with WITC so he also understands the needs of the two year institutions as well. uw3

It was great to get his take on a lot of education topics. I was amazed that Stout has a 97.3% employment (or continued higher education) rate for their graduates. Stout strives to continue that number by offering perhaps fewer majors than other universities, but they are very specialized. Bob and UW-Stout works very closely with employers to make sure their courses evolve with the needs of the people who will potentially be hiring the grads….it’s a very good system

I then got a tour of the campus from Don Steffen which included the much talked about Stout FAB Lab. I was very surprised to learn how much the general public and local businesses use the lab for various projects as well……it really is a community FAB Lab.uw2

Thank you to Bob Meyer and Don Steffen for your time today.

Former Assembly Candidate Jim Palmer Endorses Rob Stafsholt

Palmer throws support behind Rob Stafsholt

Candidate for State Assembly Jim Palmer has announced that he is suspending his campaign for State Assembly District 29 and putting his support behind Rob Stafsholt’s campaign.

Jim Palmer Endorsement

Palmer, a conservative Republican who is married with five children said he was pulling out of the race in order to spend more time with his family due to recent health concerns that recently arose with his two youngest kids.

Palmer said that after some thought and discussion with his wife, putting family first is more important at this point in their lives than continuing a bid for elected office.

“Anyone that knows me knows that my family is crucially important to me,” Palmer said.

“That’s why, after much deliberation, I have decided to put the needs of my wife and five children before my desire to serve the people of the 29th Assembly District.”

“I’m grateful for the support I have received in this race and I am honored to have met so many wonderful people throughout our district. I will continue to fight for Christian values, smaller government, the Second Amendment, taxpayers and of course, our veterans, by joining Rob Stafsholt’s campaign team.”

Palmer announced his support and endorsement of candidate Stafsholt, who he said shares his views on the fact that veterans need to be respected and treated properly, our gun rights, traditional values and keeping government small and free from waste, fraud and abuse.

“While I will no longer be a candidate in this election, I am proud to throw my support behind another true conservative, a Constitutionalist like myself, a man of integrity who will fight for the issues I believe in,” Palmer said. “In my discussions with Rob I have found he shares my concern not only for Veterans issues, but many of the other issues I ran on, and I know he will carry that fight to Madison with honor and dignity for all of us.”
